Secret Santa – Movie Theme?
Our Secret Santa theme this year is movies and I’ve drawn out of the hat someone I barely know. Does anyone have any ideas on what the gift could be that relates to a movie. The budget is ?10 and I’m looking for something a bit different. So far I have thought of a Sake set or a Kimono for Memoirs of a Geisha or a black pearl necklace for Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl. As far as I know Sake and Geisha’s are japanese, just in case you insult her.

Looking at it a different way… you may not want to bring race into the equation at all.
She may not be that patriotic or may just find it insulting that you see her race rather than her as an individual.

Troy was somewhat popular I suppose. Catwoman wasn’t not as popular as the producers wanted it to be (which wasn’t very popular at all) and Dr. Dolittle… well… most people didn’t know there was a Dr. Dolittle until they actually went to the video store and saw it in their browsings.

Uhhh… depends on what you mean by popular. Do you mean popular with audiences or critics?

Come to think of it, I don’t think any of these films were popular with either demographic (of course, Dr. Dolittle 3 was a direct-to-DVD release and, therefore, wasn’t screened for critics. The fact that it’s DIRECT-TO-DVD should be enough proof of its popularity).

Catwoman obviously bombed at the box office and with critics.

Troy was kinda middle-of-the-road (it received mixed reviews and its box office intake didn’t quite make up for its $175 million budget).

Like i’ve always thought you had to go to the store to get the door buster price on black friday, but it turns out you can shop the day before online, get the same deal, free shipping, AND they gift wrap items for you for free.

I work retail, but after finding out about this, I’m never shopping in the store again.

I know it could mean my job if it catches on, but I need a better one anyways.

I’m looking to buy a laptop. I’m a university student, so something that is not heavy, a screen between 12 – 14 inches, and i have a budget of up to $900. Right now, i’m looking to buy the Asus K40 (the other Asus models are either too costly or their webcams are only 0.3 MP), the Dell Inspiron 14 or 14z. I hear that Acer is not great, and also that Hp is known for it’s overheating problems. But I am open to suggestions that you guys might have. I would prefer one that does have an optical drive, but i don’t mind if it doesnt.

Also, does anyone have the Lenovo Ideapad y450 or the Dell Vostro 1220/1320? How do you find it?

And if anyone knows any sites with Dell coupons, that would be great. I’ve tried many sites but whenever I enter the code it says that the coupon is not valid or has expired. A coupon for the Inspiron 14z or the Studio 14z would be great! Thanks guys!

My girlfriend (I am a woman as well) has a best friend in which she chose to spend Thanksgiving with over coming to my home, her best friend bought her a GPS for her birthday which is the gift I planned to buy my girl and she invited her best friend to pray with her at the mosque today (I am still home with my family). I am not sure how I feel about all of this but it is not making me happy. How would you feel ? How would you address this type of situation ? I feel like I am competition with her best friend and she needs to draw a clear distinction between a friend and a girlfriend. Am I wrong ?
